Greeting from the Experts
Welcome to the Weed Management Information Section
of the StratSoy "Expert Answers". Our team of experts are weed scientists
with responsibilities for field crops in Illinois. Since we are
most familiar with weed control in soybeans in the Midwestern U.S.,
we might not be able to answer all questions from other regions.
All of us are ready to provide you with the assistance that you
need to successfully produce a quality soybean crop. Please feel
free to contact us concerning any of your weed problems. We would
encourage you to visit the following websites for more information
on weed management programs in Illinois and decision-making tools

of
Crop Sciences at the University of Illinois. He is responsible for
weed
biology and management research in corn and soybean production systems.
His research focuses on examining the biology and management options
of weed species that are becoming increasingly common and problematic
in Illinois. Additionally, Dr. Hager has responsibility for many
extension-related weed science programs in Illinois.
Dr. Pat J. Tranel
Dr. Tranel is an Associate Professor of Molecular Weed Science
in the
Department of Crop Sciences at the University of Illinois. His research
focus is genetic diversity within weed species, with emphasis on
evolution and molecular mechanisms of herbicide resistance.
Dr. Bryan G. Young
Dr. Young is a weed scientist in the Department of Plant, Soil,
and General Agriculture at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
His primary focus is on weed control in agronomic crops. His research
involves weed management in different cropping systems, control
