Eudora Quick Start

A. Sending Email

  1. Double-click the Eudora icon to start the application.
  2. Choose Message, New Message from the menu bar. (Ctrl+N)
  3. In the To field, type the email address of the person to receive your message.
  4. Type a subject for your email. Press TAB.
  5. Type your message in the space below the address information area.
  6. Click Queue to prepare your message to be sent.
  7. To send the mail, choose File, Send Queued Messages. (Ctrl+T)

B. Reading Email

  1. Double-click the Eudora icon to start the application.
  2. Choose File, Check Mail from the menu bar. (Ctrl+M)
  3. If you have queued messages, they are sent automatically.
  4. To read a message, double-click on the message in the summary information.

C. Printing Email

  1. Open the message to be printed.
  2. Choose File, Print from the menu bar. (Ctrl+P)

D. Attaching a file to a document

  1. Create a new message (see A. above).
  2. Before queuing or sending the message, choose Message, Attach File (Ctrl+H).
  3. From the Attach Message dialog box, select the file to attach.
  4. Queue or Send the message.

E. Creating new mailboxes

  1. Select Mailbox, New from the menu bar.
  2. Type the name of the new mailbox.
  3. Check the checkbox if it is to be a folder.

F. Moving messages into folders

  1. Open the message you want to move.
  2. Choose Transfer from the menu bar and select the mailbox to receive the message.

G. Creating Nicknames

  1. Select Tools, Address Book from the menu bar (Ctrl+L).
  2. Select the New button.
  3. Give the nickname a name (put it on the Recipient list if desired).
  4. Type in the email address for the nickname under the Address tab.
  5. Type in any comments you wish to include under the Notes tab.
  6. Select the Control-menu box to close or select File, Save.
