Spry Mail

Current lists of e-mail addresses for people and offices that are linked with the StratSoy project are available. These files are used along with the Spry Mail program supplied with the Internet-in-a-Box.

'Downloading' means copying a file from a computer somewhere on the Internet to your own computer. It is a simple process. The following steps will guide you through the process of updating your local file.

  1. Click on Options in the Spry Mosaic bar.

  2. Click on Load to Disk Mode from the drop-down menu.
    Click below on the link (either participant or office) to begin the download process.

    • I wish to download a list of current participant addressess.

    • I wish to download a current list of office address.

  3. A Save As dialogue box will appear:
    • If you are downloading the current list of people, "spry.cgi" will appear in the text area for File Name:. This is not correct. Type in the correct filename, "people.als".
    • If you are downloading the current list of offices, "spry.cgi" will appear in the text area for File Name:. This is not correct. Type in the correct filename, "offices.als".


  4. Tell the computer in which directory to put the new file.
    Often, the directory path will be c:\spry\data\ . If your path is different, click to the appropriate place. Click on the OK button.

  5. Tell the computer that you want to copy over your old list of addresses.
    If you have pointed to the correct file location (above), you will be presented with a warning that you are about to replace an existing file. Since this is what you want to do, click on the Yes button.

  6. Return to Options in the Spry Mosaic mneu bar and click on Load to Disk Mode from the drop-down menu to turn off this option.

  7. Start Spry mail.
    When you access your Address Book , your current list of email addresses will be there, ready to use.
